Giant optical illusions by German artist Edgar Mueller.

I would love to be one of those people who pretended that these frightening chasms and natural disasters are for real. ;)

“MomSense” by Anita Renfroe

April 7, 2008 · 2 Comments

Anita Renfroe is a comedian who has condensed every possible phrases that a mum would typically say in a 24-hour day to just under 3 minutes, and sang it to William Tell Overture. ;) Gosh, I see my future flash before me. :) Poor TJ and his younger bro/sis.

Anita Renfroe’s latest sequel to the  Momsense video

And a hilarious non-discrimation/being far to dads … Dadsense

I have also included the lyrics below. (found them on this site) .. ‘cos I didn’t quite catch some of the words myself.

Get up now
Get up now
Get up out of bed
Wash your face
Brush your teeth
Comb your sleepy head
Here’s your clothes
And your shoes
Hear the words I said
Get up now
Get up and make your bed
Are you hot?
Are you cold?
Are you wearing that?
Where’s your books and your lunch and your homework at?
Grab your coat and your gloves and your scarf and hat
Don’t forget you got to feed the cat
Eat your breakfast
The experts tell us it’s the most important meal of all

Take your vitamins so you will grow up one day to be big and tall
Please remember the orthodontist will be seeing you at three today?
Don’t forget your piano lesson is this afternoon

So you must play
Don’t shovel
Chew slowly
But hurry
The bus is here
Be careful
Come back here
Did you wash behind your ears?
Play outside
Don’t play rough
Would you just play fair?
Be polite
Make a friend
Don’t forget to share

Work it out
Wait your turn
Never take a dare
Get along
Don’t make me come down there
Clean your room
Fold your clothes
Put your stuff away
Make your bed
Do it now
Do we have all day?
Were you born in a barn?
Would you like some hay
Can you even hear a word I say?
Answer the phone
Get Off the phone
Don’t sit so close
Turn it down
No texting at the table
No more computer time tonight
Your iPod’s my iPod if you don’t listen up

Where you going and with whom and what time do you think you’re coming home?
Saying thank you, please, excuse me
Makes you welcome everywhere you roam
You’ll appreciate my wisdom
Someday when you’re older and you’re grown
Can’t wait ’til you have a couple little children of your own
You’ll thank me for the counsel I gave you so willingly
But right now
I thank you NOT to roll your eyes at me
Close your mouth when you chew
Would appreciate
Take a bite
Maybe two

Of the stuff you hate
Use your fork
Do not you burp
Or I’ll set you straight
Eat the food I put upon your plate
Get an A, Get the door
Don’t get smart with me
Get a Grip
Get in here I’ll count to 3
Get a job
Get a life
Get a PhD
Get a dose of…
I don’t care who started it
You’re grounded until your 36
Get your story straight
And tell the truth for once for heaven’s sake
And if all your friends jumped off a cliff
Would you jump too?

I’ve said it once, I’ve said at least a thousand times before that
You’re too old to act this way
It must be your father’s DNA
Look at me when I am talking
Stand up straight when you walk
A place for everything
And everything must be in place
Stop crying or I’ll give you something real to cry about
Oh!
Brush your teeth
Wash your face
Get your PJs on
Get in bed
Get a hug

Say a prayer with Mom
Don’t forget
I love you
**KISS**
And tomorrow we will do this all again because a mom’s work never ends
You don’t need the reason why
Because
Because
Because
Because
I said so
I said so
I said so
I said so
I’m the Mom
The mom
The mom
The mom
The mom
Ta-da

Imagini Valentine Gift Finder

February 4, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Taken from Gizmodo Here’s a fun site to find out about yours and your other half’s VisualDNA and the matched gifts.

I took the test for myself and after clicking a series of pictures corresponding to various categories such as “This is my idea of fun…”, “If I had to go for a dare, I would…” etc, the results were out and here’s my Visual DNA. So true ah. :)

”Here’s what your choices might mean about you

You get your kicks from the great outdoors; you have heaps of energy to gad about wide open spaces. You don’t like to be held back, feeling free is key to your character.

Never one to sit in the slow lane, you live life at full pelt – sometimes racing to experience more.

You love to take it easy, preferring the slow beat of the beach to the hum of the city. When you can’t make it to the sand you love to hang out with friends… all part of your laid back attitude. (My English prof told me before that I am too laid back :) )

Not taking life too seriously – you are personable, approachable and a good friend. Being able to relax and have a little fun brings out your best.

So… you like to curl up and kick back. Maybe not the most adventurous of sorts, but you have nailed the wind down. (Spending 2 weeks on the road and riding with D to northern Thailand, rockclimbing, diving…)

When extra time appears, you like to take control and create something special for others to enjoy.

To impress, a date doing something new to you both would give you the right buzz… you’re always first to take the plunge, you love diverse experiences.” (And taking all these experiences in with D, my best friend and the most important person in my life)

I got D to try it and his report is 90% the same as mine, except for the following 3 paragraphs:

“So… you can be ultra competitive, you like to play games and most importantly… you love to win!

When extra time appears you spend it flexing and getting in shape. Health and fitness is at the top of your list.

Relishing a challenge, you are strong and confident – any tough situation brings out the best in your character.”

What was the No.1 Song On The US & UK Charts On The Day You Were Born?

November 21, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Another mindless thing to do where you are bored or just plain curious.

On the day I was born, the No. 1 Song on the US Chart was “Love Hangover” by Diana Ross; and on the UK Chart “Combine Harvester (Brand New Key)” by The Wurzels.

I don’t like Diana Ross and I don’t know who The Wurzels are.

As for the No. 1 songs on the US & UK charts respectively on the day D was born, they were “Make It With You” by Bread (aiyah, one of my fav love songs) and “The Wonder Of You” by the King himself, Elvis Presley.

How come his songs are so nice?
